The global community committed itself to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees as part of the Paris Climate Agreement. This goal that cannot be achieved without assistance from the business sector. Companies need clear strategies, specific climate targets and a willingness to reduce their own CO₂ emissions in order to play their part. The introduction of measures to cut CO₂ emissions is an essential part of any climate strategy. Our procedure in this regard begins one step earlier with the preparation of your company’s CO₂ balance sheet. We use this information to determine the status quo of emission volumes and to identify the biggest emission drivers. We then indicate reduction potentials and derive measures to cut emissions that are individually tailored to your company’s requirements.
We can also work with you to develop a detailed reduction plan on request.
We recommend using the methodology introduced by the Science Based Targets initiative in order to develop an evidence-based reduction roadmap. The science-based targets consider which reduction targets are urgently needed in a sector or at a company so that the 1.5-degree target can be achieved. This procedure therefore considers what will be needed from a scientific perspective to achieve the global climate goals, in addition to what is actually possible.
