Staehle faced the task of systematically assessing climate-related risks across its sites. The analysis was designed not only to examine the direct impacts of climate change on the Stuttgart and Schifferstadt locations, but also to consider risks arising from the social and economic transition towards a climate-neutral economy.<\/p>\n<p>The objective was to identify physical and transition climate risks at an early stage, assess how they may develop over time and derive suitable measures to strengthen the company\u2019s resilience. At the same time, the analysis was intended to provide a sound basis for sustainability reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Economic considerations also played an important role: identifying and managing climate-related risks at an early stage can help reduce potential damage, business interruptions and the associated costs.<\/p>\n\n    <\/div>            <\/div>\n            <div class=\"col-lg-6 rechte-spalte position-relative\">\n                <div class=\"text \">\n        <h3>Our solution approach<\/h3>\n<p>Fokus Zukunft conducted a multi-stage climate risk and resilience analysis for G. Staehle.<\/p>\n\n    <\/div>            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"block_7273211c983185fe64e7851a7c9fb6b7\" class=\"block step-slider \">\n    <div class=\"container pt-normal pb-normal bg-no\">\n        <div class=\"row \">\n            <div class=\"col-lg-5\">\n                <div class=\"titel\">\n                <h3>The Path to a climate risk and resilience analysis<\/h3>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n       \n<div class=\"col-lg-7\">\n    <div>\n             \n           \n                <div class=\"item\">\n                        <div class=\"step\">Step 1<\/div>\n                      <p><strong>Identification and Assessment of Risks:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe first step involved identifying and assessing the most significant physical climate risks for the Stuttgart and Schifferstadt sites. These included acute events such as heavy rainfall and storms, as well as long-term developments such as increasing heat and water scarcity. In addition, transition risks resulting from regulatory, technological or market-related changes were analysed.<\/p>\n                        \n                      \n                <\/div>\n            \n \n \n   \n           \n                <div class=\"item\">\n                        <div class=\"step\">Step 2<\/div>\n                      <p><strong>Scenario Analysis:<\/strong> To assess how the identified risks may develop in the future, they were examined using two established climate scenarios. RCP 2.6 represents a scenario with ambitious climate action and significantly declining emissions, while RCP 8.5 assumes continued high emission levels. The risks were assessed across short-, medium- and long-term time horizons. A risk matrix illustrated which risks may become particularly relevant at different points in time.<\/p>\n                        \n                      \n                <\/div>\n            \n \n \n   \n           \n                <div class=\"item\">\n                        <div class=\"step\">Step 3<\/div>\n                      <p><strong>Resilience Analysis<\/strong> As part of the final resilience analysis, we assessed how well G. Staehle is already prepared for the identified risks. Existing protective measures, organisational structures and potential adaptation measures were evaluated. By considering different climate scenarios and time horizons, G.
