Innovation & Transformation
Do you manufacture or distribute furniture, mattresses, textiles, tires, steel, iron, or aluminum? Then you are affected by the new EU regulation for sustainable product design (ESPR), including the introduction of the Digital Product Passport (DPP). With our modular service package, we guide your company toward secure compliance. You select exactly the phases you need.
The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), adopted in 2024, specifies how products should be designed in an environmentally friendly manner, with a focus on durability, reparability, recyclability, and environmental impact. It replaces the previous Ecodesign Directive and significantly expands its scope beyond energy-related products.
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) provides product-specific data using technologies such as QR codes or RFID. It contains information on material composition, carbon footprint, and traceability, for example. The DPP will be mandatory for products manufactured, traded, and imported in the EU.
The ESPR is already in force as a framework regulation, but the specific obligations for companies will only be determined by the delegated acts for individual product groups. Transition periods apply depending on the product group. In our blog article “ESPR and the digital product passport: What companies should know and do now,” we keep you up to date on the latest developments.
