Success story
Through our customized EUDR consulting services, Windbiel Verpackungen GmbH gained clarity on its obligations, confidence in handling customer requirements, and a structured roadmap for implementation.

Windbiel’s management recognized early on that the company was directly affected by the EUDR (European Deforestation Regulation). The regulation is complex: it contains numerous specific definitions, distinguishes between different roles along the supply chain, and links these to varying requirements and deadlines. For Windbiel, this posed a significant challenge. This was particularly true given the limited human resources, as the majority of employees work on the production floor. Within a short period of time, the company had to delve deeply into the subject matter in order to reliably assess both its own role and its customers’ requirements and communicate them competently.
For this task, Windbiel did not seek a generic software solution, but rather personalized consulting tailored to its company. The goal: to understand the specific scenarios arising under the EUDR, how individual customers might be affected, and how the company could provide them with targeted support. Additionally, Windbiel also wanted to voluntarily provide its customers with relevant information beyond its legal obligations.
To meet Windbiel’s requirements, we organized an EUDR awareness workshop that included personalized discussions to jointly analyze and classify customer-specific scenarios and supply chain requirements.
To provide Windbiel with tailored advice, we first analyzed the company’s supply chains, procurement processes, product structures, and customs tariff codes. This allowed us to precisely determine the relevance of the EUDR throughout the value chain. Based on this analysis, we developed company-specific scenarios that served as the foundation for the workshop.
The workshop enabled Windbiel to quickly develop a clear understanding of the EUDR. The company now knows exactly what role it plays under the regulation, what obligations arise from it, and what requirements might become relevant for customers or suppliers in the future.
In addition, the workshop helped define concrete next steps for integrating the EUDR requirements into internal processes in a structured manner, for example by adapting warehouse and product labeling, reviewing supplier information, and establishing internal routines for data collection. Customer communication was also addressed: Windbiel can now respond to voluntary inquiries from customers with confidence and technical expertise.
“Our clients know that we can always provide them with a detailed answer to any question they have. That’s why it was important for us to develop a deep understanding of the EUDR—not only to understand our own responsibilities, but also to be able to provide our clients with comprehensive information and have the right solution ready for various individual cases.
We had already looked into the EUDR before the workshop, but it is a complex regulation. So it’s very helpful to be able to consult with experts. After the workshop, we definitely feel very well-informed and equipped.”
